MANILA – A man was injured after being stabbed by his opponent in a billiards match in Mandaluyong City Wednesday evening.
Willy Lascoña, 45, was stabbed by suspect Norie Lago in Barangay Addition Hills at around 11 p.m.
Lago, 42, claimed he stabbed Lascoña because he got irked by the latter's constant teasing.
Lascoña is now on his way to recovery at a hospital after being stabbed in the lower stomach with a butterfly knife.
Lago was also injured after being mauled by angry bystanders. He is facing frustrated homicide charges.
Meanwhile, a man was found dead at an alley in Baseco Compound in Port Area, Manila past 10 p.m.
The unidentified victim's body bore five stab wounds from an ice pick.
No one among the residents could identify the victim, but police point to a drug feud as possible motive behind the killing. – reports from Kori Quintos and Francis Faulve, ABS-CBN News
