MANILA -- A grandmother and her grandchild were hurt after a dump truck hit the bus they were riding along De Jesus Street in Caloocan City Sunday morning.

The two victims sustained minor wounds on their hands.

According to Simon Vercasio, the truck driver, he already saw the bus from afar such that he flashed his signal lights and beeped his horn. The bus, however, continued to cross toward the southbound lane of EDSA, causing him to crash into the bus' rear.

But the bus driver Florentino Reyes explained that all buses of Baliwag Transit were given permission to use the u-turn slot in the area to go to their terminal in Grace Park, Caloocan.

Authorities have yet to determine who was responsible for the incident. -- report from Dexter Ganibe, DZMM
