MANILA – Motorists who regularly pass through EDSA-Balintawak are advised to brace for heavy traffic in the coming months due to the rehabilitation of the Dario bridge starting April.
The Department of Public Works and Highways said the 300-meter long bridge is one of two bridges in Quezon City that needs to be rehabilitated.
The rehabilitation will be done in two phases, starting with the four northbound lanes, to prevent severely affecting the flow of traffic.
Affected vehicles will be allowed to pass through the sidewalk as well as the gap between the northbound and southbound lanes.
Repairs on the southbound lane, meantime, will be scheduled for the summer of 2014.
Motorists coming from the south headed to the North Luzon Expressway are advised by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority to use the Mindanao exit for the meantime.
Aside from Dario bridge, Regalado bridge in Fairview will also undergo rehabilitation.
