MANILA - Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and public works officials met on Monday to discuss roads and bridges that would be repaired in the coming months.
The first one up for repairs is the Regalado Bridge in Fairview, Quezon City.
The project, which will take 6 months, is expected to cause traffic in Novaliches.
The two agencies also discussed repairs on the Dario Bridge along EDSA just after Congressional-Munoz.
The repairs on the Dario Bridge, which will also take 6 months, will result in the closure of several EDSA lanes.
They also tackled the EDSA reblocking project from North Avenue to Cloverleaf Market.
The two agencies' officials have yet to agree on the schedule of the road and bridge repairs.
MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino, meantime, said the Metro Manila Council is planning to pass a measure to raise penalties on delays in construction projects.
Tolentino said they are looking to impose a P5,000 fine per day on contractors who do not meet project deadlines.
