MANILA, Philippines – Three drunk men were injured in separate accidents in Quezon City early Sunday morning.

Two men, identified as Marlon Alcalas and Jett Lee Jimenez, were unable to stand after figuring in a crash along East Fairview past 4 a.m.

The victims, who admitted that they were drunk, said they were onboard a motorcycle when a taxi drove too close to them, leading to the accident.

The driver of the motorcycle fled the scene.

Police who responded to the accident are not convinced, however, believing the incident was a “self-accident.”

Later, a taxi driver identified as Alejandro Rollan arrived at the scene. Rollan said he did not crash into the victims, instead pointing to a van with plate number UMA 897 as the culprit.

Police are now searching for the driver of the van.

A few minutes after the accident in East Fairview, another drunk man in Balintawak met an accident when a taxi crashed into him.

The man, identified as “Dodong Taba,” was bleeding and could not speak after the accident.

This is not the first time that someone got into an accident in the wet market in Balintawak. Police advised the public to use the footbridge when crossing the street to avoid accidents. -- Report from Kori Quintos, ABS-CBN News
