UV Express driver shot in Pasay
MANILA -- A driver of a UV Express van was wounded after an unidentified gunman shot him while waiting for passengers in Loring Street in Pasay City.
The victim was identified as Rusel Caligiran, 47, of Lower Maricaban, Pasay City. He is currently being treated in San Juan de Dios after being shot in the head.
According to Edgardo Tantan, a tricycle driver who witnessed the shooting, the suspect was riding a scooter and was armed with two short guns.
The suspect, identified only as "Rio" and is also a UV Express Service driver, approached Caligiran while he was talking to someone and shot him.
The police have yet to identify the kind of gun used by the suspect.
They are also investigating the motive behind the crime, although they believe that it was connected to an earlier conflict between Caligiran and "Rio."
