MANILA - An assistant manager of the Solaire Hotel and Casino was allegedly drugged and beaten to death by her live-in partner and three other suspects in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque City early Sunday.
City police chief Supt. Ariel Andrade said Edgel Joy Durolfo, 26, was beaten to death inside room 812 of the Solaire Sky Tower Building in Aseana Boulevard.
Durolfo was brought to the hotel clinic by her live-in partner Rodney Ynchausti and the other suspects, aliases Paul Egoc, Molo Hwang and Beah Lim.
Durolfo, who sustained numerous bruises, fell into a coma and was transferred to the San Juan De Dios Hospital.
Authorities said Durolfo's parents found Ynchausti at the hospital. He even apologized to them before going missing with the other suspects.
Durolfo died due to internal bleeding.
Andrade said police are searching for the suspects.
"Ito pong mga suspek, inilo-locate na namin. Pinapuntahan ko na po sa kanilang mga tirahan, pero wala po sa known address. Hindi po sila ma-contact," the police chief said.
Police are also conducting a background check on the suspects who may have forced Durolfo to take an ecstasy pill before mauling her.
Investigators have asked Solaire hotel for a copy of the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage from the crime scene.
Authorities will also examine the victim's cellphone while waiting for the results of her autopsy test.
