Cops arrest suspect in BGC killing
MANILA – The police have arrested a suspect in the killing of two people at the Bonifacio Global City.
Chief Superintendent Jose Erwin Villacorte, Southern Police District (SPD) director, said a certain Danny Delono was arrested on Thursday evening in connection with the killing of a mother and her daughter.
The two victims, Jonalyn Gantiyao and her 4-year-old daughter, were found dead near Treston International College and Market! Market! mall on Thursday.
Police said a witness saw Delono, Gantiyao's live-in partner, talking to the two victims on Wednesday evening at the crime scene.
Delono was arrested from his home in Mini Park in Fort Bonifacio at 10 p.m. on Thursday. He allegedly used a rock to kill the victims.
Taguig Police chief Senior Superintendent Arthur Asis, meanwhile, said initial investigation showed that jealousy drove Delono to kill Gantiyao and her daughter.
Asis said Delono allegedly caught Gantiyao holding a complimentary hotel soap, leading the suspect to accuse his live-in partner of going out with another man. – report from Dexter Ganibe, dzMM
