MANILA - Jose Paolo Calma, one of several respondents implicated in the mauling of actor Vhong Navarro last January 22, filed his counter-affidavit before the Department of Justice (DOJ) on Friday.
Calma answered a few questions from the panel, but immediately left without answering queries from the media.
Calma is facing cases for serious physical injuries, grave threat, grave coercion, illegal arrest, blackmail, and serious illegal detention, which is a non-bailable offense.
Aside from Calma, the other respondents are Deniece Cornejo, Cedric Lee, Bernice Lee, Zimmer Raz, Jed Fernandez, Ferdinand Guerrero, and a certain "Mike."
Navarro's counsel, Atty. Alma Mallonga, said Calma's affidavit lacked a lot of details.
But she expressed hope that more information from the respondent will surface soon.
"Hindi pa kumpleto yung mga detalye mula sa kanya. Pero sana dumating ang panahon na mas maraming detalye na ang lalabas," Mallonga said.
The other people accused in the cases are scheduled to appear before the DOJ next Friday, March 7.
