MANILA, Philippines – Five men allegedly involved in stealing a delivery truck in Manila were arrested on Sunday.
According to the initial investigation, truck driver Richard Udan and porter Erwin Duran were the ones who took away the vehicle including its cargo along Mendiola Extenson in Paco, Manila.
Both suspects were nabbed during a follow-up operation conducted by the authorities.
Upon arrest, the suspects told the police officers where they brought the truck cargo as well as identified their three other companions, which led to the arrest of suspects Delfin Iferba, Samuel Angcon and RJ Almadra.
Authorities said the suspects stole around P200,000 worth of softdrinks and bottled water. More than half of the truck cargo were already sold.
Iferba, Angcon and Almadra will be be facing charges of violating the Anti-fencing Law, while Richard and Erwin Duran will be charged with qualified theft. – from a report by Zandro Ochona, dzMM
