MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – Weather bureau PAGASA has issued a yellow rainfall advisory for Metro Manila and nearby areas in Luzon.

In its 2 p.m. bulletin, PAGASA said the moderate to heavy rainfall being observed over Rizal, Quezon, Bulacan, Pampanga, Bataan, Zambales and some areas in Metro Manila (Quezon City, Caloocan, Malabon, Navotas, Valenzuela, Manila, Pasig, San Juan, Mandaluyong and Makati) is expected to continue in the next three hours.

Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Nueva Ecija and Tarlac, meanwhile, will experience light to moderate rains.

"Flooding is possible in low-lying areas and those located near the river channels," PAGASA said.

"Local DRRMC's (disaster risk reduction and management councils) are advised to take necessary precautionary measures."

PAGASA said the northeast monsoon (amihan) is the prevailing weather system in the country.

Tropical depression "Crising" has already left the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
