MANILA - President Aquino recognized achievers from the persons-with-disabilities (PWD) sector during the 40th anniversary celebration of Tahanang Walang Hagdanan (TWH) in its center at Cainta, Rizal.
Among those given achievement awards were:
Paralympic games medalist Adeline Dumapong;
professional advancement awardee and ABS-CBN Bayaning Pilipino awardee Rex Bernardo;
TESDA’s PC Assembly gold medalist and TWH IT supervisor Domingo Literal;
PWD advocate Dr. Enrique Ampo; and,
entrepreneurship awardee Edward delos Santos.
TWH volunteer Engineer Felix Gonzales, Sr. was given a posthumous award.
Aquino lauded the awardees for setting an example and for maximizing their potentials despite their disabilities.
He also praised Tahanang Walang Hagdanan and thanked its volunteers for helping empower PWDs.
