MANILA – At least 21 jeepney passengers were robbed in Barangay Immaculate Conception, Quezon City on Wednesday evening.

Robbery victim Christine Faith Hidalgo said one of three suspects sitting in front of her drew his gun out and demanded that she give her bag to him.

Two other suspects armed with knives also took off with the valuables of the passengers.

Sarah Ortega, another victim, said one of the suspects seemed nervous, apologized to the passengers and even made the sign of the cross before robbing them.

"Nagdasal siya, nag-sign of the cross siya. Nanginginig siya at kinakabahan. Sabi niya pasensya na holdap ito, wag na kayong papalag," Ortega said.

Some of the victims said they suspect that the jeepney driver, Felmar Berdera, connived with robbers. They said the driver did not immediately bring them to the police station where they could have sought help.

Berdera, for his part, said he was just overwhelmed by the situation and noted the robbers had guns.

One of the robbers was identified through the police rogues gallery as Joey Boy Comora. His two cohorts remain unidentified. – report from Carolyn Bonquin, ABS-CBN News
