MANILA -- Two passengers were shot dead by 'riding-in-tandem' gunmen inside a taxi in Quezon City on Tuesday.
According to Jaime Bobis, driver of a Valentino Taxi, the two unidentified passengers, a male and a female, along with another woman, flagged down his taxi in front of the Quezon City Hall of Justice and asked to be brought to Monumento in Caloocan.
However, when they stopped along Kalayaan Avenue, one of the passengers got off the car and told her companions to just meet up in Monumento.
When they were driving along the inner lane of Quezon Memorial Circle in front of Visayas Avenue, the two motorcycle-riding suspects stopped in front of the cab and fired at his passengers.
Weng Dela Peña, another taxi driver who witnessed the incident, said both suspects fired at the victims using calibre .45 guns.
He also saw the suspects turn right along North Avenue, but he failed to list the motorcycle's plate number.
Scene of the Crime Operatives are currently investigating the incident. -- report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
