MANILA – The two-storey residence of a former producer was razed down by fire around 2 a.m. Tuesday, reports said.

The owner of the house located at 2650 Lamayan corner Azusena St., Sta. Ana, Manila has been identified as Manuel Reyes, also the former owner of a race track in Sta. Ana.

According to Sr. Insp. Trossip Cante of the Manila Bureau of Fire Protection, the blaze originated from a makeshift extension of Reyes’ house.

But Reyes, according to barangay chairman Junny Bautista, said the fire started from a small bonfire, which quickly spread to the house built mostly of wood.

The fire, which reached fifth alarm, was declared out around 2:50 a.m.

The BFP estimates damage at P3 million.
