MANILA, Philippines - Police are investigating a possible robbery angle in the murder of a 50-year-old gay man in Damayan village, Frisco, Quezon City Tuesday morning.
Police said Enrique Esguerra was found dead by the victim's cousin, Mely Sta. Ana, at around 9 a.m. They said the victim was stabbed three times on the nape using an ice pick while a plastic bag was placed over his head.
They said the victim's house was ransacked and his DVD player, laptop and cell phone were missing.
Sta. Ana said he last saw the victim at 8 p.m. Monday. He said he noticed that Esguerra's front door was open Tuesday morning and decided to come in. Upon entering, he discovered Esguerra lying face down on a cot a few meters away from the door.
Barangay Kagawad Jojo Perez said he also noticed three local youths outside Esguerra's house on Sunday. He said the three youths were not in their homes when police decided to investigate.
