Truck blocks railroad, affects PNR ops

MANILA – A trailer truck loaded with a two culvert boxes got stuck right in the middle of a railroad in Makati City early Friday, affecting trips of the Philippine National Railways (PNR).

At least 22 trips of PNR were affected as of 8 a.m. after a trailer truck carrying the heavy concrete items blocked the railroad near the corner of Osmeña Highway and Don Bosco Street at around 2 a.m.

PNR crossing keeper Edwin Ventura said because of the blockage, trips between adjacent Pasay Road and EDSA-Magallanes stations were interrupted.

The truck was removed past 8 a.m. after the Makati Development Corp., the contractor of a culvert project in Sta. Ana, Manila, sent a crane to unload it of the concrete boxes.
