Uyami replaces Pagdilao as CIDG chief

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine National Police (PNP) announced on Thursday that the new director of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) has been installed following the resignation of Director Samuel Pagdilao.

PNP spokesperson Chief Supt. Generoso Cerbo said replacing Pagdilao will be Chief Superintendent Frank Uyami, the former Pasig City police chief and head of legal service group.

Uyami was a graduate of PMA class ’82.

Sr. Supt. Jeffrey Manere was named new chief of the legal service group.

Also installed are former finance service director Chief Supt. Rolando Purugganan as PNP director for comptrollership.   

Director Roque Ramirez, meanwhile, was reassigned as the head of the directorate for police operations in Visayas. -- Report from Gus Abelgas, ABS-CBN News
