MANILA, Philippines – A 63-year-old woman died on the spot after an unidentified suspect gunned her gown in Barangay Payatas A in Quezon City on Sunday.

According to Senior Police Officer Eric Lazo of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit - Quezon City Police District, victim Estrella Quides was already on her way home from the Divine Mercy Church along with her 21-year-old daughter Percella when the incident happened.

Lazo said Percella was walking ahead of her mother when she heard a gunshot at the corner of San Juan Bautista and Sto. Niño streets.

Percella said the suspect just left her mother on the floor and immediately left the crime scene via a motorcycle.

The victim’s family has decided to not speak about the incident but they suspect that the motive behind Queides’ killing could be because of an altercation over a land. – from a report by Dexter Ganibe, dzMM
