MANILA -- Around 20 families rebuilt their houses on the center island in Agham Road, just a day after most of the other shanties built there were dismantled.

The families were former residents of Sitio San Roque, who went to Agham Road after their houses were demolished.

The families used plywood to build their shanties.

According to the informal settlers, they returned to Agham Road because they were not among those relocated by the National Housing Authority (NHA).

They added that they have already put down their names in the list of families to be relocated, but to no avail.

Tadeo Palma of the Task Force for the Control, Prevention and Removal of Illegal Structures and Squatting (COMPRISS) said the NHA fulfilled their promise and relocated more than 200 families on Wednesday.

Palma added that they will dismantle the shanties again.

However, he said that he cannot assure the remaining families that they will be relocated as it will depend on the decision of the NHA. -- report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
