MANILA -- The Bureau of Customs on Tuesday seized more than P4 million worth of illegal drugs in Central Mail Exchange Center, Old Domestic Road in Pasay City.
Officials from the BOC received an intelligence report that illegal drugs will be shipped to the country.
The drugs were found in sacks that were declared as used clothes and shoes. The sacks came from Pakistan and were addressed to a consignee in Metro Manila.
Upon inspection, authorities found banned drugs inside the sacks, including 'downers' such as Ativan and Valium.
According to Lt. Reggie Tuason, the illegal drugs were packed in six sacks, with a total weight of 60 kilograms.
