MANILA – A man accused of killing his own wife and son in Paranaque City was arrested on Tuesday by police in a hotel in Tuguegarao City, where he went into hiding.
Recovered from suspect Danilo Rafael was a .45 caliber gun and 9 spent shells that the police believe he used in shooting his wife Fe and son Danilo Jr.
Rafael, during interrogation, admitted committing the crime out of anger and jealousy, police said.
“Ako talaga… hindi eksakto papatayin, walang plano, pero nagdilim isip ko,” Rafael told police.
An informant told authorities about the whereabouts of the suspect, which led to his arrest.
“May info that he is hiding sa Diversion Road, Tuguegarao, through an informant. The suspect was identified, then inaresto,” said Supt. Jay Cumigad, chief of police of Tuguegarao City.
Rafael told police that after allegedly killing his wife and son at their Cavite home, he put them in their car’s compartment and parked the vehicle in front of the residence of his wife’s relative.
“Dinala ko dun, para sila ang maglibing,” said Rafael, who is asking for forgiveness from his wife's family.
He is now under the custody of the Paranaque police. - Report from Darlene Gemino, ABS-CBN News Cagayan Valley
