MANILA – A man was arrested after introducing himself as a policeman in Pasay City.
Sr. Supt. Florencio Ortilla, chief of Pasay Police, said 35-year-old Zaldy Dionela was caught at a checkpoint at the corner of F.B. Harrison and P. Manahan Streets.
Ortilla said Dionela was with PO2 Christian Hado onboard a motorcycle when he was caught with a fake police identification card and a replica of a .45-caliber pistol.
Police said Hado was a legitimate policeman assigned at the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters in Camp Crame.
Dionela will be charged with usurpation of authority. He and Hado are also facing traffic violations for not wearing helmet and riding a motorcycle with no registration plate. – report from Eric Dastas, dzMM
