MANILA – An airport pushcart retriever has become an instant inspiration for many Filipinos after returning an envelope containing $4,800 (P210,000) left by an arriving passenger at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1.

Jony Villon has so far been rewarded with cash and other gift items from individuals touched by his good deed.

Adding to the list of those who were inspired by his honesty are the Rivero brothers.

Basketball player Prince Rivero said he and his siblings were tuned in to DZMM when they learned about what Villon did.

"Maging inspiration po siya sa lahat ng Pilipino. Sa mga nakikinig po, model po si kuya para sa atin na pwede nating tularan. At sa mga bata din po na nakikinig, dapat malaman nila yung tama sa mali. Maganda pong model yung ginawa niya," said Prince.

The 18-year old reigning NCAA Juniors MVP will be playing for the De La Salle Green Archers soon. He will be taking up management, he said.

Prince and his younger brothers Rasheed and Richie, who are also basketball players, gave Villon a jacket and cash on Saturday.

"Magbibigay na lang po kami ng pang Chinese New Year and yung jacket po kasi malamig yung panahon ngayon," Prince said.

The Rivero brothers are children of Barako Bull's strength and conditioning coach, Paolo Rivero. -- Report from DZMM
