Another suspect in Maconacon mayor slay nabbed

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED) – Another suspect in the killing of Maconacon, Isabela Mayor Erlinda Domingo was arrested in Barangay Culiat, Quezon City Friday night, police said.

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said they were conducting their anti-crime drive "Oplan Galugad" in Salum Compound when they suddenly saw Marsibal Abduhadi, also known as Bagwis, who is the alleged gunman who shot Domingo to death.

Police said they easily noticed the suspect since he was was wearing a black jacket usually worn by policemen.

Recovered from Abduhadi were a gun, two grenades, and unidentified amount of suspected shabu and cocaine.

A still unidentified woman along with Abduhadi was also arrested.

Authorities said the alleged gunman may be the one to identify the mastermind behind the killing.

Police said charges of murder, frustrated murder, illegal possession of firearms and usurpation of authority will be filed against Abduhadi.

He is set to undergo inquest proceedings Saturday.

Domingo was shot dead outside Park Villa Apartelle in Quezon City last Tuesday.

Her bodyguard, Bernard Plasos, was also hit by a bullet in his hip.

Three suspects behind the killing had already been arrested. They were identified as Christian Pahinado, Michael Domingo and Mary Grace Abduhadi.
