MANILA -- A man believed to be a victim of summary execution was dumped near the building of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) along C.P. Garcia in Diliman, Quezon City Saturday.

The man, whose head and feet were covered with garbage bags, was discovered by guards of the University of the Philippines Diliman at around 5 a.m. The incident was then reported to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 9.

The still unidentified victim was wearing a yellow long-sleeves shirt and black shorts.

His hands and feet were tied with a packaging tape.

His body bore at least three tattoo marks: "Rey", "Reynaldo" and "Batang City Jail."

Beside the man's body was a carton, with the words "Akyat bahay ako, wag tularan" written on it.

Initial investigation of the Scene of the Crime Operatives (SOCO) showed that the victim sustained five stab wounds from an ice pick.

Police Officer Julius Balbuena said they are still investigating if the victim was a member of the Batang City Jail. -- Report from Dexter Ganibe, dzMM
