MANILA - Suspected members of the group called "Acetylene gang" were allegedly behind the attempt to break into a pawnshop in Quezon City.

The break-in was discovered by security guard Jomer Regencia of the GPI Express Pawnshop located along Maligaya Park in Pasong Putik.

The suspects dug a hole from a manhole to access the pawnshop.

Regencia told DZMM that when he checked inside the shop, he saw a jack, screw driver and other small digging tools.

Nothing was taken from the pawnshop.

Regencia said they did not notice any sign of diggings in the area but admitted that the pawnshop had no security guard on duty at night.

Authorities will review the pawnshop's CCTV camera in the hopes of finding a lead that will result in the arrest of the suspects. Report from Johnson Manabat, DZMM
