2 QC cops shot while conducting 'Oplan Galugad'

MANILA -- Two policemen were wounded after being shot while conducting "Oplan Galugad" in Sitio Kilyawan, Barangay Bagong Pag-asa, Quezon City on Thursday.

The victims were identified as PO2 Randolf Olivar and PO1 Archie Evangelista. Both were assigned to the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Station 2.

Investigation showed that the two policemen conducted "Oplan Galugad" after they received reports of indiscriminate firing in the area.

As they were walking through a narrow street, they were suddenly fired upon by the suspects.

Olivar was shot in the leg while Evangelista sustained three gunshot wounds in the waist.

They were rushed to East Avenue Medical Center and were later transferred to Chinese General Hospital.

Four hours after the shooting incident, two men identified only as alias Parol and alias Rubis were arrested.

According to police, witnesses said tthe two men often fire their guns.
