MANILA – A man was shot dead by suspects riding-in-tandem in Pasay City before dawn Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Alexander dela Cruz, was riding a bicycle at the corner of Tramo and Inocencio Streets in Barangay 104 when he was shot by the one of the two motorcycle-riding suspects.

Dela Cruz sustained gunshot wounds in his face and body.

A closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera captured the incident.

The gunman, who seemed aware that a CCTV camera was installed in the area, is seen in the footage covering his face as he returned to the motorcycle driven by his cohort.

Police recovered several spent bullets from a .9 millimeter pistol from the crime scene.

Investigators discovered dela Cruz had been jailed for illegal drug charges and was released from prison just last December.

Dela Cruz's family said the victim's sibling was also shot dead almost a year ago. – reports from Zandro Ochona, dzMM; and Jerome Lantin, ABS-CBN News
