MANILA -- A policeman and 2 others were wounded in a shootout between authorities and alleged members of an illegal drugs and robbery syndicate in Tondo, Manila on Wednesday night.
Senior Insp. Jon Guiagui, chief of Delpan police, said they went to Parola Compound in Tondo after getting information about the presence of armed men in the area.
But Guiagi said that upon reaching gate 56 of the compound, police were greeted with bullets from two suspects.
Among those wounded were PO1 Anthony Quilantang, civilian volunteer William Adornado, and one of the suspects identified as Marvin Medaño.
Police arrested Medaño’s companion, Edward Pamiruyan who admitted that he was once jailed for robbery.
