MANILA – A man was rescued after attempting to jump off the roof of Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 1's United Nations Avenue station Tuesday.

Personnel from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) managed to grab the man, Vitas, Tondo resident Paolo Ignacio, even before he could jump off the roof.

Ignacio claimed he was about to go home to his province of Masbate but was forced to scale the LRT station because someone was running after him.

It was not yet clear what triggered the man to scale the LRT station and threaten to jump off its roof.

The incident triggered vehicle build-up along Taft Avenue's southbound lane as ambulances and patrol vehicles blocked a portion of the thoroughfare. – report from Noel Alamar, dzMM
