MANILA, Philippines – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday formally launched a bike lane at a segment of the Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA).
MMDA chairman Francis Tolentino said the bikes may be used at the provided bike lane which runs from Magallanes until Gil Puyat Avenue in Makati.
Tolentino said a rider will only need to present an identification card in order to be allowed to use the bike along the EDSA bike lane. A helmet will also be provided.
The MMDA had set up similar bike lanes in Manila and Marikina.
The agency is also eyeing on setting up a bike lane along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City. – with a report from Jerome Lantin, ABS-CBN News
