Taxi driver robbed in Cubao, dropped in QC

MANILA, Philippines -- A taxi driver was robbed of cash and his vehicle in Cubao before dawn Wednesday, police said.

Taxi driver Raffy Caduwatan said two men and a woman boarded his taxi along Pureza St. in Sta. Mesa, Manila and asked to be brought to Barangay Kaunlaran in Cubao at around 3 a.m.

The three then declared robbery before reaching their destination. Caduwatan said one of the male suspects suddenly pointed a knife at him and forced him to transfer to the back seat while the other male robber transferred to the driver's seat.

The victim was robbed of at least P3,800. He was later dropped off at Barangay Mariana in Quezon City after the suspects took his taxi with plate number UVM 776.

Meantime, the victim was unharmed in the incident. -- Report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
