Two killed in Manila shootings

MANILA – Two people were killed in separate shooting incidents in Manila on Friday morning.

In Sta. Cruz district, a man was found dead in the middle of A.H. Lacson Avenue, near the corner of Aragon Street.

The victim, who was shirtless, was shot in the chest. Three slugs from a 9 millimeter pistol were recovered from the crime scene.

The victim has yet to be identified. His back bore the tattoo marks "Commando" and "Jing."

In Baseco Compound in Tondo, meanwhile, a woman only identified as Laura was shot in the head and chest by an unidentified suspect using a .45-caliber pistol.

Investigators suspect that the woman was mistaken for a police asset. – report from Noel Alamar, dzMM
