MANILA -- After 18 hours of procession, the image of the Black Nazarene arrived inside Quiapo Church early Friday morning.

A sea of devotees, waving white handkerchiefs and chanting "Viva, Viva Senor Nazareno!", welcomed the Black Nazarene as it entered the Quiapo Church at around 2 a.m. Friday.

Despite the change in route, this year's procession, which started at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, still finished earlier than last year's 19 hours.

A mass followed the end of the traslacion.

In 2012, the procession lasted 22 hours after one of the wheels of the carriage was broken.--report from Francis Faulve.
