MANILA, Philippines - A Montessori Professional College teacher caught on video verbally and physically abusing a female student is not certified by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), the state training skills education agency said Thursday.
Narciso Varona's Personality Development subject is also not accredited by the agency, according to Marita Hernandez, executive director of TESDA's Public Information Office.
Hernandez said Varona was not on the list of trainers submitted by Montessori Professional College-Pasay for certification.
"Mapag-alaman din na si Dr. Varona ay walang TESDA certification," she said in a letter to ABS-CBN News.
Varona has been fired by the school.
Hernandez said the following courses offered by Montessori Professional College-Pasay need to follow training regulations that have requirements set by TESDA:
- Bread and Pastry Production NC II
- Front Office Servicing NC II
- Food and Beverage Servicing NC II
- Housekeeping NC II
- Bartending NC II
