MANILA – The Metro Rail Transit (MRT-3) again suffered from a technical glitch on Wednesday , triggering long lines during the morning rush hour.

MRT General Manager Al Vitangcol said a defect was detected at a portion of the railway system between Buendia and Guadalupe stations.

Vitangcol said due to the glitch, the railway system's trips were limited between North Avenue and Shaw Boulevard stations from 6:25 a.m. to 6:57 a.m.

Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) spokesperson Hernando Cabrera, in his official Twitter account, said the disruption of MRT operations and the re-routing of traffic in preparation for the Feast of the Black Nazarene caused the passenger volume in Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) to spike. – with a report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
