MANILA, Philippines - Philippine National Police chief Director General Nicanor Bartolome said they have also received surrender feelers from retired Major General Jovito Palparan.
“Meron din kaming tinatanggap na surrender feelers. Meron din po kaming nakakausap, but of course, ang mga ito po ay laging binibigyan ng consideration,” he said.
He said the police are always hopeful that Palparan will finally come out of hiding. “If not, we’ll still track him down.”
Palparan previously attempted to fly to Singapore but was blocked by officials of the Bureau of Immigration at the Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark, Pampanga.
An arrest warrant was issued last Wednesday in connection with his alleged involvement in the abduction of University of the Philippines students Sherlyn Cadapan and Karen Empeño in 2006.
