MANILA, Philippines – The Reproductive Health (RH) bill will be signed by President Benigno Aquino III into law before the year ends, Malacañang said on Saturday.
"Before the end of the year 'yan (RH bill) naman ang pipirmahan," Deputy Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte told dzRB Radyo ng Bayan.
The controversial bill was approved by Senate on Monday after languishing in Congress for 13 years.
The House of Representatives has also approved the bill, which had been certified as “urgent” by President Aquino.
The President on Friday signed into law the "desaparecidos” bill or the Anti-Enforced or Involuntary Disappearance Act of 2012.
The law criminalizes incidents of enforced disappearances.
Valte also said the Rights of an Air Passenger, which was signed by Transportation and Communications Secretary Jun Abaya and Trade Secretary Gregory Domingo last December 10, took effect on Friday.
