MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino challenged the camp of former President Arroyo to prove its claim that the administration is hatching an operation called “Put the Little Girl to Sleep,” purportedly aimed at harming Mrs. Arroyo.
President Aquino expressed disbelief at the alleged plot, calling it a “work of fiction.”
“Alam n'yo hindi kami nagko-comment sa works of fiction e,” Aquino told reporters in Malacañang.
Aquino said the government does not have a motive to harm Arroyo. He said that the administration wants Arroyo to face the charges against her and that she be convicted.
Asked if Arroyo will be adequately secured at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center, Aquino said: “Parang ang haba naman ng tanong mo sa work of fiction.
Aquino expressed exasperation on the matter, saying “it is waste of time” to comment on such a “nonissue.”
“If anybody will ask again about something like that—I’m sorry—it’s really waste of all our time to really tackle a nonissue,” he said.
