MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has disqualified 10 more old and new party-list groups from the 2013 mid-term elections.
The poll body cancelled the accreditation of existing party-list groups Abot Tanaw and Abroad.
It also denied new party-list groups:
- Hukbong Querubin,
- Samahang Ilocanong Magsasaka,
- Angat Ahon Magsasaka,
- Una Edukasyon, and
This comes amid the status quo ante order issued by the Supreme Court on Tuesday, which halts the earlier disqualification resolutions that the poll body issued against eight groups.
Comelec chief Sixto Brillantes Jr. said they will follow the ruling. He said this will not stop them, however, from purging the party-list system.
