MANILA, Philippines -- The Archdiocese of Manila launched the Year of Faith at San Fernando de Dilao Parish Church in Paco, Maynila on Saturday.
The launch of the Year of Faith, which was led by Manila Archbishop and cardinal-designate Luis Antonio Tagle, is an invitation for Catholics to study again the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
The Catholic Church observes the Year of Faith from Oct. 11 until Nov. 24 next year.
Programs during the launching rites included a traditional dance called "Buling-buling," which was offered to Sto. Niño de Pandacan.
Tagle arrived on Friday from The Vatican, where he attended the Synod of Bishops.
The cardinal-elect will be returning to Rome, Italy on Nov. 24 for his formal appointment. -- Report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
