MANILA, Philippines -The website of the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) was defaced by alleged "Turkish" hackers on Monday.

Visitors of the site were welcomed by a defaced website showing the flag of Turkey.

Below the flag, meanwhile, is the following the message:

"Turkish Hacker…Ortak Operasyon…Hacked Metehan & AkSüVaRi Gandalf…Baz? dostlara selamlar ----> ?ahTürk,BICKIN,AYAZ,

"The Turkish Republic will be happy, prosperous and victorious. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti mutlu, zengin ve muzaffer olacakt?r."

The DOTC website is the latest government website to be defaced since a series of hackings started last week by alleged Filipino "hacktivists" opposing the Anti-Cybercrime Act.

The government has since beefed up online security to protect its websites from the alleged hackers.

The group Anonymous Philippines did not take responsibility over the defacement of the DOTC website.
