MANILA, Philippines – Former President Fidel V. Ramos on Saturday urged the government to investigate the loss of more than P100 billion, as reported by the Commission on Audit.
Speaking to reporters at the VIP lounge of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2, the former President said it would be too early to judge the anti-corruption policies of the current administration, but he said this is proof that the problem on corruption has not been substantially reduced as it is still obviously happening.
Ramos refused to comment more on the report, saying he wasn't privy to the details as he was out of the country.
Asked to give his thoughts on political dynasties, Ramos said this is happening because of the failure of Congress to define, prohibit and impose punishment on “dynasticism.”
He proposed that Congress slightly amend the constitution to define “dynasticism” through “charter revise.”
