MANILA, Philippines - Former senator Jamby Madrigal on Thursday filed her certificate of candidacy for the 2013 senatorial election.
Speaking to radio dzMM, Madrigal said she is running for senator under the ruling Liberal Party. The former senator ran for President in 2010 but lost.
She said that during her 6-year stint at the Senate, she was able to pass landmark bills such as the Magna Carta for Women, Anti-Child Pornography Law and the Tubbataha Natural Park Act, which recently won the United Nations Silver Medal.
Madrigal said she is awaiting instructions from Sen. Franklin Drilon, campaign manager of the LP coalition.
She also said she has no celebrity endorser for now.
