MANILA, Philippines - The United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) is considering Vice President Jejomar Binay’s daughter Nancy and two others for the last spot in their senatorial ticket.

Binay said his party mates want Nancy to run. However, he and his family have apprehensions on the matter.

ABS-CBNnews.com sources also said UNA is considering Quezon Rep. Erin Tañada for the last slot. The Liberal Party member was supposedly bumped off the administration’s slate.

Meanwhile, Binay also shrugged off allegations of a Binay political dynasty. He said that it is the people who elected his family members into office. He also said that their family is known to serve well that is why people elect them into office.

Earlier, Makati Mayor Jejomar “Junjun” Binay Jr., along with his entire slate filed their certificates of candidacies. He is seeking a re-election.

They were accompanied by the Vice President. Hundreds of supporters cheered them along the way.

Aside from Junjun, another Binay – Abi - will run as a re-electionist congressman of Makati.  The Makati mayor echoed his father that there is no such thing as a Binay political dynasty because his family is well loved in Makati.

At present, there is no known credible opposition against the Binays in Makati. – with Ira Pedrasa, ABS-CBNnews.com
