Villar, Madrigal bury the hatchet
MANILA - Las Piñas Rep. Cynthia Villar doesn't mind sharing the stage with her husband's former rival, former Senator Jamby Madrigal.
In an ambush interview before President Aquino announced the administration's slate for the 2013 elections, Villar said she and her husband, Sen. Manny Villar, have moved on already, which is the secret to their success.
Madrigal and Villar were bitter rivals in the 2010 presidential election. Madrigal accused Villar of a "double insertion" in the C5 road project, as well as a supposed secret alliance with former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. She also questioned Villar about the source of his campaign funds.
In a separate ambush interview, Madrigal also said she had moved on, and that she never clashed with the Villars personally. She said their differences involved principles.
