MANILA, Philippines – Forecasters and employees of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said they have already received their suspended magna carta benefits.
Philippine Weatherman Employees Association (PWEA) president Ramon Agustin said PAGASA forecasters and employees received their benefits for March and April last August 17, and are set to receive the one for May this coming September 7.
Agustin said PAGASA employees are hoping to receive the suspended benefits for the remaining months soon.
PAGASA forecasters caught President Aquino's attention after they staged a protest at the height of a typhoon in August.
The magna carta benefits include longevity pay, hazard pay, and SALA (subsistence allowance and laundry allowance). – from a report by Dennis Datu, dzMM
