MANILA, Philippines - The wife of the late Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo has no plans of entering politics, according to her eldest daughter.
Aika Robredo said it is unlikely that her mother, Atty. Maria Leonor Robredo, will accept invitations from several groups to run for public office.
"Had she wanted to enter politics, 1998 would've been perfect time. Term limit dad ko. Mas madaling pumasok sa kanya ng ganun. But sanay din
kasi kami. We have our own lives. We only help out dad pag elections. Yun ang pinaka-contribution namin, house-to-house, but afterwards it's
really kanya-kanyang buhay ulit. At this point kanya-kanya talaga," she told ABS-CBN News.
The late Robredo left 3 daughters: Jessica Marie "Aika", Patricia and Jillian.
Aika is working for a private firm while Patricia is finished her pre-med studies. Youngest daughter Jillian is a high school freshman.
Aika said their mother will not allow Jillian to join showbiz.
"Sabi nga ni Kris [Aquino] okay kung papayagan siya. Eh hindi yon papayagan ng nanay ko," she said.
