VP Binay denies holding prescon today
MANILA, Philippines - Vice-President Jejomar Binay will not be holding a press conference at the Coconut Palace today, his chief of staff said.
Binay's chief of staff, Joey Salgado, said the vice-president is in Tehran to attend the 16th Non-Aligned Movement Summit as President Aquino's representative.
"VP Binay is in Tehran at the moment so it is physically impossible for him to be at Coco Palace at 2pm," he said in a text message.
"VP has many outstanding abilities but bilocation, is not one of them, Obviously, the persons or group who sent the text wanted to mislead the media," he added.
His office later issued a media advisory, saying that the vice-president will arrive from Tehran on Saturday, 10:10 p.m. He will be taking an Emirates flight EK 334 at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal I.
